Beaubourg x The Daft Punk: what do they have in common?
What do the Musée Beaubourg and Daft Punk have in common?
It was at the Beaubourg museum, or Centre Pompidou, that the group was born.
Daft Punk, the world-famous French duo made up of Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, are considered one of the most influential groups in electronic music, with hits such as "Around the World" and "Get Lucky".
Daft Punk got their start in electro music after discovering the genre at the age of 18 during a House "Armistice" party on the roofs of Beaubourg on November 10, 1992.
To commemorate the band's birth here, the Centre Pompidou unveiled a previously unreleased track by the group, "Infinity Repeating", which was broadcast free of charge on May 11, prior to its official release.
Yet another date linking the two Parisian giants: Beaubourg, the contemporary art giant, and Daft Punk, the legendary electro band.
