One sale, three cellars, a selection

Henri Gouges and his Nuits Saint Georges.
Built up little by little over the generations, the estate's vineyards now extend over nearly 15 hectares and include 10 appellations among which are presented for sale (lots 11 to 113 and 116) of "Clos des Porets" in 2001, 2002, 2003 and "Les Vaucrains" in 1994.
Henri Gouges is at the origin of the law on Controlled Appellations and was the representative of the Burgundian viticulture on the board of the INAO. Anxious to continue the work already accomplished, Grégory and Antoine Gouges, now at the helm of the estate, decided 15 years ago to work according to the principles of organic agriculture on the entire estate, giving priority to biodiversity and promoting the rooting of the vine.

Bonneau du Martray and its Corton Charlemagne.
A royal wine? this one was served in 2006 at the private dinner given by Queen Elizabeth II for her eightieth birthday.
It also obtained the maximum score of 5 stars in the "Guide des vins Bettane + Desseauve 2017", all the same!
A family history of almost two centuries.
The prestigious estate has indeed belonged for almost two centuries to the heirs of René Bonneau du Martray, himself a descendant of the founder. The arrival of Jean le Bault de la Morinière to the estate in 1969, with his strong will to be the most faithful witness of the Corton terroir, will mark the beginning of a wide international recognition for the wines signed Bonneau du Martray.
In January 2017, the estate is sold to Stanley Kroenke, already owner of the Californian estate Screaming Eagle (lot 102).

Château de Beaucastel, emblematic vineyard of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Château Beaucastel shines by its identity particularities. The estate is located on a terroir of rolled pebbles which allows the heat stored during the day to be released at night by radiation. It is also one of the only estates to use the thirteen authorized grape varieties to elaborate its red wine!
The estate passed into the hands of Pierre Tramier in 1909, which he passed on to his son-in-law Pierre Perrin. After five generations, it is Jean-Pierre and François Perrin who continue to make the appellation and the estate shine internationally. Very anxious to respect the biodiversity of this exceptional terroir, biodynamics has become the watchword (lots 89, 99 and 100).
