Meet Georges Guyot

Born in Paris in 1885, Georges Lucien Guyot overcame financial challenges to emerge as a renowned artist. Initially a woodcarver, his love of painting led him to study at the Jardin des Plantes. His talent was quickly recognized during his military service, opening the doors to the École des Beaux-Arts.

Guyot climbed the ladder of success, becoming a member of the Groupe des Douze in 1931. His work, centered on fauna, is part of the Art Deco movement of the 20th century. His bronze sculptures have often fetched between €10,000 and €40,000, but auctions have revealed results exceeding these estimates.

Guyot's sculptures, particularly the feline bronzes, are highly sought-after, with prices peaking at 60,000 euros.

Guyot's paintings, mainly centered on animals, especially felines, are less coveted than his sculptures, barely exceeding 3,000 euros. A few rare landscapes and still lifes are also present, with much lower prices.
