Robert COUTURIER (1905-2008) - NU D'AUTOMNE (1987) - Bronze with a richly shaded black patina Original edition proof, signed and numbered "3/6", stamped and inscribed with "Susse Fondeur Paris". Cast circa 1998 - Height : 40.6 cm, Length : 16 cm, Depth : 5.9 cm - Bibliography : Valérie Da Costa, Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre sculpté de Robert Couturier, PhD Thesis, University of Paris IV-Sorbonne, 1998. n° 363 Bis - Note : Robert Couturier is a French sculptor born in 1905. He joined the Estienne school in Paris, where he studied lithography. Former pupil of Aristide Maillol, Robert Couturier detaches himself from the style of his master and tends towards suggestion to the detriment of figuration, defining himself as a defender of line, in opposition to modelling. He works essentially around the female nude in a restrained and discreet manner.
