André Vincent BECQUEREL (1893-1981) - Walking panther - Bronze with nuanced patina signed and dated (19)26 - 25 x 66 x 12 cm - Black marble base - Note : André Vincent Becquerel (1893-1981) is a French sculptor. He studied at the Ecole des beaux-arts de Paris, under the direction of Hector Lemaire and Prosper Lecourtier. He exhibited sculptures of animals, including felines, horses, cats and ornithological subjects at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français from 1914 to 1922. Becquerel executed many decorative sculptures, with a preference for wild animals. On the occasion of the 1937 Universal Exhibition in Paris, he exhibited a monumental sculpture in patinated plaster for the International Pavilion.
