Louis APOL (1850-1936) - Winter Landscape - Oil on canvas signed - 37 x 27 cm - Note : Louis Apol was a Dutch painter known for his realistic and expressive representations of serene and snowy rural landscapes. He composed his scenes in a similar way to the works of the famous Dutch landscape painter Jacob van Ruisdael, giving the horizon and the sky more importance than human activity or dwellings. Today, his works are part of the collections of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and the Dordrechts Museum, among others. The artist died on 22 November 1936 in The Hague, the Netherlands.
