20th century French school - Lot 203
20th century French school Smile at life Metal sculpture Radiator cap / car mascot Wooden base 17 x 10 x 10 cm Note: This small metal sculpted head has all the characteristics of the automobile mascots of the 1920s-1930s, often made of cast metal and intended to adorn car radiator caps. The expressive modelling, stylized hair and compact size are typical of this type of production, much appreciated by automobilia collectors. The wooden base is probably a later addition for display purposes. A decorative and singular object, full of charm, in the spirit of the humorous mascots of the interwar period.
