Frédéric NOY (1965) - Lot 196

Frédéric NOY (1965) Hope in the mangrove, Kongo, Bayelsa State, Nigeria, 2005 Color print On back, signed, titled, dated, located Dimensions including margins: 50 x 40 cm Note: In this scene, imbued with gentleness and gravity, Frédéric Noy captures a suspended moment in which an everyday gesture takes on the value of a symbol. The diffused light, absorbed by the murky water, lends the composition an almost painterly tone, while the juvenile silhouettes emerge with great poetry. Through this image, the artist continues his sensitive exploration of communities living in contact with fragile territories, revealing the dignity, resilience and hope that animate these moments of life. A print that testifies to the documentary and humanistic force of Noy's gaze.
