China, early XXᵉ century Set of two boxes, one in black lacquer inlaid with mother-of-pearl, the other in red lacquer Rectangular box in black lacquer, with mother-of-pearl inlaid decoration representing a flowering bouquet and objects of the scholar (vase, incense burner, lingzhi...). Openwork brass clasp. Condition: worn, missing and small chips; sold as is. Wear, small chips and traces of lacquer in various places. Small oval red-brown lacquer covered box. Minor wear and rubbing.
