LARGE WROUGHT-IRON SUSPENSION FRAME, Work circa 1925-1935 - Lot 281
LARGE WROUGHT-IRON SUSPENSION FRAME, Work circa 1925-1935 Suspension frame in patinated wrought iron, with stepped geometric decoration typical of the Art Deco style, resting on a triangular structure. The top, decorated with hammered motifs and stylized leaves, supports three slender uprights with broken lines, each terminating in an arm housing a socket. Work from 1925-1935, in the spirit of the decorative ironworkers of the interwar period. Height: 71.5 cm Condition: oxidation, minor deformations, electrical elements incomplete. Antique mount sold as is (without glassware). Note: This large wrought-iron suspension frame is fully in keeping with the Art Deco aesthetic of the 1925-1935 period, characterized by geometric lines, steps and architectural volumes. The hammered top, embellished with stylized leaves, recalls the work of decorative ironworkers between the wars, while the three slender uprights with broken lines continue this graphic dynamic. Each ends in an arm designed to hold a socket, underlining the structure's functional and luminous vocation. Oxidation, minor deformations and incomplete electrical elements testify to the age of the piece, sold as is and without glassware. The set constitutes an interesting basis for the restoration or reconstitution of an Art Deco hanging lamp.
