WROUGHT IRON SUPPORT, Early XXᵉ century work. - Lot 284
WROUGHT IRON SUPPORT, Early XXᵉ century work. Small hammered wrought-iron stand with circular base and pyramidal upright topped by two lateral scrolled arms and a central spiral motif. Decorative ironwork, probably intended to hold a small basin, bowl or lighting element. Dimensions: - Height: approx. 22-25 cm - Width: approx. 18-20 cm Condition: wear from use, oxidation, irregularities typical of handwork. Note: This small wrought-iron stand is evidence of early XXᵉ century decorative ironwork, recognizable by its irregular hammering and sculptural design. The pyramidal structure, enhanced by lateral scrolls and a central spiral motif, reflects the taste for organic, stylized forms characteristic of the craftsmanship of this period. Probably intended to hold a small basin, bowl or lighting element, it retains a notable decorative presence despite the wear and oxidation of time. The irregularities observed are inherent to traditional hand-crafting.
