Christian BASTIAN (b. 1942) - Lot 19
Christian BASTIAN (b. 1942) Faulle n° 2, 1992 Paint and material on metal Signed, dated and titled on back 92 x 73 cm Note: Faulle n° 2 (1991) is part of Christian Bastian's abstract, materialist approach, based on the stratification of surfaces and the working of matter. The composition, produced on metal, plays on contrasting textures, mineral hues and horizontal rhythms, giving the work a presence that is both raw and structured. In terms of its format and plastic density, this material painting is a representative example of the artist's production in the early 1990s, a period appreciated by lovers of contemporary abstraction.
