Statue of a female dignitary China, in the style of the Tang period (618-907) Terracotta statuette of a standing female dignitary, wearing a long dress decorated with stylized motifs, drooping sleeves and a high, elaborate headdress. The face is treated in a soft, hieratic manner, with traces of ancient polychromy still visible (ochre, red and black). Posture and costume are directly inspired by courtly female figures typical of the Tang period. Antique Tang work, no guarantee of period. Condition: accidents to the hands, general wear, missing parts and surface alterations, incomplete polychromy. Height: 33 cm.
