The face, brightly lit, seems to emerge from the shadows, as if torn from an indistinct background. The tight framing and the intensity of the gaze create an almost unsettling impression of proximity, while the dark areas absorb part of the figure. The marks of the print - folds, tears - reinforce this sensation of fragility: they inscribe time into the image, transforming it into an object as much as a representation. Photography does not seek to freeze an identity, but to capture its vibration and instability.
