Note: La Vengeance à deux visages (1961), Marlon Brando's only directorial effort, remains a major American Western for its meticulous aesthetics, lively pace and the psychological modernity of its characters. Shot under particularly demanding conditions, the film testifies to Brando's total involvement, both in front of and behind the camera.
