Emmanuel ORTIZ (1961) - Lot 185
Emmanuel ORTIZ (1961) Under the ashes of the Volcano, Argentina, 2008 Silver print On back, signed, dated, titled Dimensions including margins: 50 x 40 cm Note: In this rural scene shrouded in mist, Emmanuel Ortiz captures a moment of suspended life, where men, horses and dogs seem to move in the same breath. The broad composition and soft gradations lend the image an almost mythical atmosphere. True to his sensitive approach to reality, Ortiz transforms the everyday into a timeless vision, on the borderline between documentary and dream.
