SCHNEIDER - Lot 178

SCHNEIDER PRESSED GLASS SUSPENSION BASIN - ART DECO WORK - Ø 34 CM Suspension basin in frosted molded pressed glass, with radiating geometric decoration and frieze of honeycomb motifs in relief, typical of Art Deco production in the 1930s. Slightly ambered glass; three perforations for mounting. Diameter: 34 cm. Condition: minor pitting and wear. Note: This pressed glass bowl is fully in line with the aesthetic developed by Schneider in the 1930s, combining geometric rigor with decorative motifs in relief. The radiating decoration, combined with the honeycomb frieze, testifies to Schneider's mastery of molding and its quest for variations in light. The light amber tint softens the diffusion of light and accentuates the volumes of the decoration. A fine example of Art Deco production, representative of the sober, structured elegance of Schneider pieces.
