Note: Benjamin Sabatier (b. 1977 in Le Mans, lives and works in Paris) is developing an almost exhaustive concept that places the work of art at the heart of contemporary socio-economic reality, questioning various features of our society - standardization, all-out consumerism, the alienation of work by work, the infinite repetition of gestures - and the place these sociological reflections occupy in current art. An artist of action, Benjamin Sabatier's social approach to art insists on the importance of "matter" and the involvement of the viewer. In this, he joins Marcel Duchamp and Joseph Beuys. Also the spiritual son of Keith Haring and the Support/Surface group, all these influences make his work singular and explosive. In Do It Yourself from A to Z, he spells out the founding principles of his work in alphabetical order. Whether he's sharpening pencils for 35 hours, creating the IBK kit production structure based on the Ikea model, seizing on the history of workers or deploying a sculptural work marked by a construction site aesthetic, he repeatedly questions the concept of work. The first work is accompanied by a signed, one-of-a-kind can compression.
