Note: Born in 1975 in Feldkirch (Austria), Barbara Anna Husar lives and works in Vienna and Nuweiba (Egypt). A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and the School of Visual Arts in New York, she continues her world tour with residencies in Beijing, Shanghai, Bilbao and Copenhagen. Major exhibitions include those at the Kandinsky Gallery in Vienna (2002), Atelier 35 in Bucharest (2009), Nairobi, Morogoro (Tanzania) and Shanghai (2010). In 2012, the Natural History Museum in Vienna devoted a major solo exhibition to her. She is currently represented by Lisi Hämmerle Gallery in Bregenz, Konzett Gallery in Vienna and StageBACK in Shanghai. She also makes numerous films and videos, ranging in length from 2 minutes 30 to 62 minutes. She has also published several monographic editions and artist's books, including Hot Dock, Data Exchange and Big Buckling Book. The first edition is accompanied by an original work, a unique piece, a survival blanket, a photograph and a pill.
