Bettencourt - Lot 132
Bettencourt Small dictionary of mammalian thought 48 pages, paperback, dust jacket Numbered 33 from an edition of 285 + current edition "L'art en écrit", 2001. Editions Janninck Format: 125 x 210 mm An original signed silkscreen print is included. Note: Born in 1917 and died in 2006, a friend of Dubuffet, Michaux and Jean Paulhan, Bettencourt was a traveler. First a writer, then a publisher, he defined his pictorial work as a living, erotic act. A collection of thoughts, maxims and aphorisms, his Petit dictionnaire expresses different points of view on his work and on the meaning of creation. Through the words he has chosen to define, the artist defines himself with humor and lucidity. The first edition is accompanied by an original, signed silkscreen print.
