Takis - Lot 170
Takis Flowers grow if you look at them 48 pages, paperback, dust jacket Numbered 17 from an edition of 290 "L'art en écrit", 1993. Editions Janninck Format: 125 x 210 mm An original signed silkscreen print is included. Note: Takis (born 1925 in Athens, died 2019) chose to explore the energy of magnetic fields in his work. Following in the footsteps of his Nouveau Réalisme contemporaries, he incorporated movement, light and music into his sculptural approach, combined with the use of magnets. A tireless experimenter and "intuitive scientist", Takis has never ceased his quest to capture cosmic energy by combining art and science. An avant-garde contemporary visual artist, his work is rooted in a sculptural tradition ranging from archaic Greek sculpture and Giacometti to the discarded objects of technology. Fascinated by "scientific magic", the source of inventions (he even registered industrial patents), Takis is also a philosopher of science, regularly immersing himself in the great ancestors of pre-Socratic philosophy, from the medicine of Hippocrates to ancient Egypt. This is an original text in which Takis describes his path to artistic initiation, referring above all to Egypt's Pharaonic era, the theory of the egg and the theory of energy. The book is accompanied by an original signed silkscreen print.
