PIERRE MAC ORLAN, writer: portrait, on the radio (with accor - Lot 180
PIERRE MAC ORLAN, writer: portrait, on the radio (with accordionists) and during the shooting of a short film by Michel Droit, 1950s/60s 3 photos (one by J. Montagnac), vintage silver prints, one annotated on white margin Photographer's stamp on one back and annotations on three backs Dimensions: from 16.7 x 12.2 cm to 17.8 x 24 cm. Note: Novelist, journalist and songwriter, Pierre Mac Orlan is one of the singular figures of French literary life in the XXᵉ century. Most notably the author of Quai des brumes (1927), he developed the aesthetic of "social fantasy", blending poetry, adventure and observation of the popular world. His work is closely linked to chanson and the world of Parisian cabarets, with several of his texts set to music or performed by French chanson artists. The photographs presented here testify to the writer's media presence in the post-war years, between radio, song and cinema.
