Aldos SOARES (1960) - Lot 70

Aldos SOARES (1960) Valerie Lemercier, Paris, 1994 Color silver print On back, signed, titled and dated by the artist Size including margins: 40 x 30 cm Note: In this portrait of Valérie Lemercier, Aldos Soares creates an image that is both theatrical and intimate, where the face emerges from an almost painterly halo of light. The frontal pose, framed by the hands, evokes a staging of the gaze and identity, between mask and revelation. The dark background isolates the figure, accentuating the tension between carnal presence and abstraction. The subtly controlled use of color lends the work a timeless dimension, oscillating between classical portraiture and contemporary icon.
