Catherine WEEB (XX) - Lot 240

Catherine WEEB (XX) Les Folies Bergeres 1987 Nathalie a la cigarettes Silver print 30 x 40 cm Note: Photograph by Catherine Weeb, showing a Folies Bergère performer, identified as Nathalie, in a moment of pause, cigarette in hand. The image is part of a documentary approach to the world of cabaret, attentive to off-stage moments and the intimacy of the artists. This photograph reveals a more personal, everyday facet of the world of show business, contrasting with the public, staged image of the performances. It contributes to a more human and realistic vision of the backstage world. The silver print, in a large format, gives the work a much-appreciated rendering quality and visual presence, reinforcing its interest for collectors of show and backstage photography.
