Irving KLAW (1910-1966) - Lot 285
Irving KLAW (1910-1966) Domination, circa 1950 Vintage silver print Dimensions: 10.3 cm x 12.2 cm Note : Photograph by Irvin Klaw, a major figure in American underground photography from the 1940s-1950s, known for his productions linked to fetishist worlds and representations of domination. These images, circulated at the time in confidential circuits, are part of a marginal iconography that is now studied for its influence on certain forms of contemporary visual culture. The period silver print is an essential element of authenticity, reinforcing the interest of this photograph for collectors specializing in mid-twentieth-century alternative photography.
