Note: A humanist photographer of Hungarian origin, Paul Almasy devoted much of his work to capturing landscapes and scenes of life around the Mediterranean. This view of the port of Nice is part of this approach, combining documentary observation with a sense of composition. The image soberly captures the atmosphere of the port, balancing human activity and architecture. The stamp on the reverse attests to the authenticity of the print. The whole is both aesthetically pleasing and documentary, typical of Almasy's work.
