Statue of Liberty, 1977 - Lot 274
Statue of Liberty, 1977 Silver print Handwritten notes on back Dimensions: 27.8 cm x 21.8 cm Condition: creases and corroded corners Note: This photograph depicts the Statue of Liberty, a major symbol of the United States and an emblematic figure of New York. Taken in 1977, it is one of a series of documentary photographs probably intended for the press or publishing industry. Handwritten annotations on the reverse suggest an editorial or archival use. The vintage print is of great iconographic interest for this universal monument, which has been widely disseminated in the collective imagination.
