Beaumont NEWHALL, Robert KRAMER August Sander. Photographs of an Epoch, 1904–1959. Aperture, New York, 1980. Biography, quotes, and photographs by August Sander (1876–1964) Good condition Note: Published in conjunction with the exhibition August Sander: Photographs of an Epoch, 1904–1959, held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art in 1980, this book is one of the leading monographs devoted to the German photographer August Sander (1876–1964). Richly illustrated with black-and-white photographs, the book also includes a chronology, a bibliography, and excerpts from the writings of August Sander and his contemporaries. It is considered a reference work on one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th century.
