TUMUC HUMAC - Lot 299
TUMUC HUMAC Dani and Marc Porel with director/photographer Jean-Marie Périer during filming, 1971. 2 photos, vintage silver prints, annotated on one back. 19.8 x 24.5 cm each. Note: Set of two photographs showing Dani and Marc Porel with director and photographer Jean-Marie Périer during the shooting of Tumuc Humac, a film made in 1971. A singular work of French cinema in the early 1970s, the film combines adventure, visual experimentation and the counter-cultural spirit of its time. Known as one of the great photographers of the yéyé years, and a contributor to Salut les Copains magazine, Jean-Marie Périer develops a highly personal aesthetic between cinema and photography. Stills from his productions remain sought-after by collectors of French cinema and the visual culture of the 1960s-1970s. The annotations on the verso testify to the document's professional circulation.
