BRIGITTE BARDOT AND SERGE GAINSBOURG - II - Lot 277
BRIGITTE BARDOT AND SERGE GAINSBOURG - II During the recording of a song… 1960s. Photograph, later print (1990s) on RC paper, unmarked on the back. 24 x 17.8 cm, including white borders. Note: This photograph depicts Brigitte Bardot and Serge Gainsbourg during a recording session in the 1960s, a particularly prolific period in their artistic collaboration. A major figure in cinema and a symbol of French popular culture, Brigitte Bardot found in Serge Gainsbourg a composer capable of revitalizing her musical image through daring and resolutely modern songs. Their partnership gave rise to several songs that have become iconic, including *Harley Davidson*, *Comic Strip*, *Bonnie and Clyde*, and *Je t’aime… moi non plus*, the first version of which was recorded with Bardot in 1967. This image captures the creative atmosphere of the recording studios at a time when French music was opening up to influences from rock, pop, and Anglo-Saxon culture. Printed later in the 1990s from a photograph taken in the 1960s, this document offers a fascinating glimpse into one of the most famous collaborations in the French music scene.
