MAURICE PIALAT - Lot 31
MAURICE PIALAT
Portrait (with paintbrush), taken during the filming of "Van Gogh," 1991.
Photograph, vintage RC print, unmarked on the back.
17.7 x 11.5 cm.
Note: A painter before becoming a filmmaker, Maurice Pialat found in “Van Gogh” (starring Jacques Dutronc, who won the César Award for Best Actor) a subject tailor-made for him. Seeing him with a palette in hand on set takes on its full meaning here.
