DIANE KEATON AND WOODY ALLEN - Lot 1
DIANE KEATON AND WOODY ALLEN Facing the Queensborough Bridge in New York, an iconic image from Woody Allen’s film *Manhattan*, 1979. Photograph, vintage silver print, credits below the image, stamp on the back. 20.5 x 25.7 cm including borders. Note: Directed by Woody Allen in 1979, “Manhattan” features Isaac Davis, a New York writer played by Woody Allen, and Mary Wilke, played by Diane Keaton, with whom he gradually falls in love. Filmed in black and white by Gordon Willis and set to the music of George Gershwin, this love letter to New York has left a lasting mark on cinematic culture. The scene in which the two characters gaze at the Queensboro Bridge at daybreak has become one of the most iconic images of the film and of American cinema in the late 1970s.
