Henri Vever

His name and his destiny are linked to Art Nouveau. From 1892, he became very close to the merchant and patron Siegfried Bing.
He exhibited jewelry for the first time in 1893 in Chicago.
A collector of prints, he donated 40 Japanese prints to the Louvre.
In 1908, he published the book La bijouterie française au XIXe siècle (1800-1900), an essential source of study of this art, a book of which was recently auctioned for nearly 2000 euros. Collector and jeweler, he became a historian of this technique.
A great collector of French jewelry and Japanese prints, he donated his collections to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, La Maison Vever only closed in 1982.
Vever's jewelry has enjoyed considerable success on the market, with some auctions exceeding 100,000 euros. Some jewelry remains more accessible, with auctions often concluding between 6000 and 12000 euros.
Vever's beautiful jewelry is not common on the jewelry market. They are rare and exceptional, belonging to the domain of the collection, just like those signed René Lalique dating from the end of the 19th century. Let us note a butterfly brooch of 1890 signed René Lalique sold 125000 euros on an estimate of 20000 to 30000 euros. Rarity has no price.
